This book has everyting a cooking book must have. Lots of pictures and step by step photographs that are very useful when you are not a pro. There are also many finished dishes photographs that will make it impossible to avoid doing it yourself. Lots of how to!! I read it as a digital, but I’m going to have it in paper as soon as I can!

“Fine Cooking Italian” is a great collection of authentic Italian recipes, several of which remind me of my grandmother’s cooking. My wife grew up cooking Italian food and has a well stocked bookshelf with a lot of Italian cookbooks, and she agrees that this is one of the best she has seen.

The chapters include “Starters, Salads & Soups”, “Pizza, Calzone & Stromboli”, “Pasta”, “Main Courses”, “Polenta & Risotto”, “Sides”, and “Desserts”. I like the layout of the recipes, which includes the ingredient list, a picture of the finished dish, and very clear instructions. Several recipes include variations and extra tips for working with specific ingredients or explanation of techniques (like hand stretching pizza dough). I also like that recipe has the institutional information listed for the finished dish, which is important when cooking for those with dietary restrictions.

The recipes range from the very easy to the fairly complicated, but all will produce an outstanding dish.

    Highly Recommended!

The Italian kitchen is my favourite. This book has Italian recipes that are so good that noone can resist. I loved the mushroom salad and the creamy tomato basil soup.
I learned how to prepare calzones (the second time), fresh tomato sauce and risotto with peas.
As for the main cources there were lots of delicious chicken recipes. This book gives us lots of ideas such as pizza topping ideas.
Every cook must own this book and I can’t wait to buy the other Fine Cooking books.
